Why 2021’s Year of the Ox is exactly what we need after 2020

Year of the Ox 2021

2020 was Year of the Rat

If we had paid attention, we would have known we were in for a hellish year. Have a read of what Year of the Rat is all about:

Rats tend to lead a busy lifestyle running around from one place to the next. From the outside, this may look like absolute chaos but every move is actually very well calculated and has been thought out right down to the last detail. While these rats seem to be happy creatures, they are actually quite aggressive on the inside but tend to hide it very well.

YEAR OF THE RAT, KELLY’S STAR SIGNS

Except, they didn’t hide it very well. It was chaos. We were thrown into a pandemic washing machine and every time we saw a sliver of daylight, we got some ‘pain’ sprayed on us and thrown back into the wash. And we’re still not out of it yet.

But, with a new year, comes renewed hope for a safer, healthier (and cleaner) life ahead.

2021 is Year of the Ox

This year could be our ticket out of this circle of despair we’ve found ourselves in. Let me explain. But first, read this:

Oxen are seen as the big friendly giants of the Chinese zodiac thanks to their patient, hard-working and reliable nature. But don’t mistake the big friendly giant for a dim-witted one. Oxen are quite capable of being creative and thinking for themselves. Sure, it may take a little longer than most, but the thoughts and ideas themselves are well worth the wait.

YEAR OF THE OX, KELLY’S STAR SIGNS

If you can imagine for a second, a big, strong ox who has a goal of travelling far across the land, over mountains to a place where he knows there is plenty of food, water and shelter for him, that is us.

We have our goals of a better, healthier, safer life but our burden is huge. Financial stress, career instability, mental health challenges and social isolation to name a few. The Year of the Ox, tells us that we will have patience, we will be hard-working like never before and we will crave anything resembling reliability and stability in our lives.

Not only that, the Ox also guides us through this life they are calling the ‘new normal’. The world has changed and instead of trying to find a path back to where we came from, the Ox is telling us instead that we need to think creatively and find new solutions for how we will live from now on. What’s going to work for us? What’s not working? What needs to be done better?

We need to improvise, prioritise and innovate in all areas of our life.

And the Ox is going to give us all the space and time we need to do this properly. To ensure our changes are sustainable and dare I say, even better than before.

And on that note…

Here’s to the Year of the Ox and all that it represents for us in 2021. This year, is going to be the foundation on which we rebuild after 2020. So let’s think outside the box and get it right.
